I am a married (obviously) 30 something girl from Wirral. I have lived on the Wirral all my life but sadly my immediate family no longer live here. I have been married to Mark since May 2007 but we have been together since November 2001. We have a cat called Sylvester and 4 fish. One of my most favourite things is to be organising events from dinner parties to surprise birthday parties to weddings, my friends are forever asking me to help with that something a little bit special for their event and I just love being able to help out.
So, my absolute passions are my husband (I have to say that as he will read this) I have a love of fine food and most music. I also love to train at my local gym, you can't have a love of fine food and not gain weight. Also when I get the time I love to travel. I have been to many countries which is where I get my inspirations for colours, fabrics, themes etc.
I have one brother, also Mark, who lives in Seattle, Washington, U.S, home of the famous love story Sleepless in Seattle. He is a football coach and he is getting "Hitched" as they call it, in July 2008 and I am a bridesmaid (imagine that?) and my husband is an Usher. So I am busy helping to co-ordinate that. My brothers fiannce Bridget has a twin sister who is also getting married in May 2008, so its an extremely busy and costly time for their household at the moment.
My parents live in Mazzaron, Southern Spain, so I don't get to see them as often as I'd like. I do miss my mother and father but they are happy there and hey, its always good for a nice hot holiday.
As I said above Mark and I got married in May 2007 in Kefalonia, Greece, WOW what a two week experience that was. I had spent about 12 months planning the wedding after spending about 10 months planning a wedding in the UK and then deciding I wanted a wedding abroad (there was a huge influence in me deciding this and I will explain in the next paragraph). I visited Kefalonia the year before to meet up with my Wedding Co-ordinator (its always handy to know someone who speaks the lingo) and I was so glad that she was there on hand when things went wrong, and yes, things did go wrong, very wrong. 2 weeks before we were due to leave our seats on the plane were cancelled and the airline offered us seats on another plane to another destination, its funny now but it wasn't at the time. Anyway. I had so much to do, co-ordinating 30 guests flying from as far a field as the USA and arrange their accommodation etc and you know what, it was so stressful, all that planning and organising, and I LOVED IT!! The week that followed our guests arriving right up to the wedding and the day we left was so amazing that I still watch my wedding video at least once a month (it used to be about twice a week) just to get those feelings back again.
Do I really need to put in a paragraph about why I am so passionate about wedding co-ordination? I suppose I should say that when Mark and I were planning the wedding I searched high and low for a wedding co-ordinator who wasn't offering packages, but who was offering an individual service. Could we find this? Er, no is the honest answer. Every planner or co-ordinator we met with offered us some stunning packages but they were all the same for everyone's wedding. We were shown venue after venue that just seemed to be the same as the last. The decorations seemed to be the same and you can't very well ask a hotel to change the colour of their carpet or walls just to suit your wedding can you? Now I don't know about you but both Mark and I wanted a wedding day that was not only unique to us but equally for our guests, we wanted a day that was stunningly beautiful, visually interesting and not to mention totally breathtaking. I definitely managed to nail that.
Have a look at the services that I offer and I hope that you will be pleasantly surprised. I look forward to hearing from you and maybe being able to co-ordinate a very special day that only YOU have ever dreamed of.
